How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're gonna take a look at the Kat NV 2.0 on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Now this is gonna be more specific for your 1500 Sierra. If you want a little bit more in depth on the rack itself, we do have a full review, but this is just gonna be how it interacts with the back of the truck and some key features. The NV 2.0 is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, so that means it's not gonna make any contact with the frame, just at the front and rear wheel. The capacity for this is super solid. So it's gonna work for your super light road bikes that have carbon fiber frames with the no contact, as well as going all the way up to your 60-pound E-bikes. more

Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec two-bike platform bike rack on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. First thing we need to do is install the bike rack itself, which we'll just start by putting our shank into the receiver here, doing our best to line up the holes as we can. Once we've done our best to align the hitch pin hole with the hole on our receiver tube, we can start to thread our anti-rattle bolt into it. Most of these anti-rattle bolts including this one, we should be able to hand thread a pretty good portion of the way, but you might have to lift up and down on the actual bike rack to do so. If you start forcing the threads in with your socket wrench, eventually after multiple uses, you can start to unthread the actual anti-rattle bolt. more

Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The RidgeBack is gonna be a hanging-style bike rack, which means it holds onto our bikes primarily with the top tube right here, and it's got one anti-sway cradle here in the back, which helps keep some of that movement out of the case, but as with most hanging-style bike racks, you're gonna get a little bit of that back and forth movement. And you'll notice here that this front tire is free swinging, so I definitely recommend picking up some sort of stabilizing strap to keep that in place. But it does have the ability to hold four bikes up to 40 pounds a piece. Got a couple cool features that we'll check out throughout the video, so let's get to it. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

Hey, it's Ethan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Chinook Two Bike Platform Rack and how it fits on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. It's gonna be able to support two bikes up to 45 pounds a piece, gonna hold onto them primarily with these frame hooks on our center mast, as well as two straps, one on the back tire and one on the front. So because it does make that frame contact, we'd recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes 'cause it could potentially damage your frame while you're driving. Also, if you have a really aggressive alternative frame style bike, you might have to pick up a bike adapter bar to make it work. CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Premium Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The Curt Premium is a hanging style bike rack capable of supporting four bikes up to 180 pounds total. It's gonna hold onto our bike primarily by the top tube and let the rest of the bike hang down, hence the name. It's gonna support our bike with three straps, two on the top and one anti-sway strap on the side here. As you can see here with the front tire, it is free hanging right now though, so if we rotate it all the way, it'll make contact with the back of our Sierra, so we recommend picking up some stabilizer straps if you can, just to secure that in place. more

We are looking at the Hollywood Racks Destination Platform 2 Bike Rack On a platform style bike rack like this, you're gonna have the tires sitting in these grooves here. The frame is gonna be secured on this mass by the cradle so you actually have three attachment points you have on the frame and then you have one on each tire that secures it. Now, with the way that this mounts, this isn't gonna be a good option for some of your carbon frame bikes. And with a 35 pound weight capacity, it's not gonna be suited for your e-bikes or some of your heavier trail bikes. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the CURT Premium Four Bike Rack on the back of our 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. This is a hanging-style bike rack that's gonna hold our bike by the frame. It hangs down by the frame there, held in by these two straps over the top the frame, and a third one around the seat post, limiting our side-to-side movement. It's not gonna fully eliminate that movement, but it does help quite a bit and prevent bike-to-bike contact. You are gonna have some limitations with this being a hanging-style bike rack because it's hanging by the frame, you wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that can damage it. more

So the first thing we need to do is to get the rack itself installed, which is pretty straightforward with this rack, what we do is slide the shank into the receiver. There's a built-in collar around the shank, which will stop us where we need to, to make sure our pins are aligned. And once this collar is lined up, the pinhole should be lined up as well. So we just slide this through and put our lock on the end of it. more

This gonna be a good entry level way for you to get up to four bikes where you need 'em to go. Bike rack allows a weight capacity of up to 35 pounds per bike, so nothing crazy. And it will hold onto our bike primarily through these padded clamps that are able to move up and down our center mast as well as they ratchet and rotate around 360 degrees to accommodate for a couple of different frames, styles, and sizes. But we definitely recommend that you, if you have a carbon frame bike, you don't use it with this rack because it will make frame contact and it could potentially damage your frame as you're driving. more

Swagman Current 2 Electric Bikes Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here with etrailer. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman CURRENT eBike Rack on the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra. The first thing we're gonna need to do is get the actual rack into the hitch. We have a 1 1/4 shank here, with our two-by-two-inch adaptive sleeve that fits into our 2-inch receiver tube. We found that once you basically line up the adapter sleeve with the outside of the receiver tube, then your pinhole will probably be lined up pretty okay. If It's not, you just can just wiggle it up and down a little bit till you get to where you need it to go. more

The WestSlope is a two bike platform style rack with a gradual slope to it here at the back, which is great because it's going to give you plenty of ground clearance at the rear of your Sierra. Like most platform style racks, secures your tires in cradles, and we have a hook here on our front tire that helps put down pressure into that front cradle securing our bike. Today on our 2019 GMC Sierra, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Two Bike platform style rack.Having a bike rack on the rear of your Sierra can actually help you free up space in your bed for those adventures you're going on. Also, with nicer bikes like carbon fiber bikes, people don't always want them just rattling around in the truck bed, this is a great way to secure your bikes and get them where you're going. Platform racks secure your bikes at the tires, and there is a cradle up top that puts down pressure on the bike, keeping it in those cradles. The nice thing about this is it's not hanging by the top tube like with other style bike racks.Now like this, you'll notice getting into the tailgate of your Sierra is a little difficult, but that's not a problem with this rack. There's a pin down here we can pull out, and once we've loosened that pin, then we can pull out on the knob, and that's going to let the bike tilt away. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 GMC Sierra 1500, we're going to doing a test fit on a Saris super clamp EX two bike platform rack, part number SA0425F.Now, with a bike installed, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.To start, like most platform racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle. Little black handle right here, we're going to pull down on that, tilt it away.However, to get access to your truck, if we open up our tailgate, we're going to see that as it comes down, it does make contact with the bike right there. Though it does get most of the way down, so if you're careful, you can open it up, hold onto the tailgate and get whatever you need.
